Adjustments to Rome following the Death of the Pope (22/04/2025 16:25 BST)

In light of His Holiness the Pope's recent passing, Star Tours expresses heartfelt condolences to the global Catholic community and all those mourning this significant loss.

Due to official closures and security measures currently in place across Vatican City, we regret to inform our valued guests that our regularly scheduled guided tours of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel will not proceed until further notice. Vatican authorities have mandated these closures in preparation for official ceremonies and international delegations arriving to pay respects.

However, we will endeavour to continue limited access to St. Peter's Basilica, subject to day-by-day assessments and crowd control protocols. While access is not guaranteed, our team will try to include this iconic site in the adjusted itinerary when possible.

We understand this may be disappointing to those with upcoming reservations, and we appreciate your understanding during this period of mourning and reflection. Affected guests will still receive the full depth of cultural insight and historical context that define our tours with a Rome Guide, even amidst temporary restrictions. Our guides are fully prepared to adapt to the changing landscape while maintaining the high standard of service and experience our guests expect.

Please note that St. Peter's Basilica is a free-access site, not a ticketed tour portion. As such, no reimbursement is applicable for any changes related to this portion of the visit.

Our top priority is our commitment to providing respectful, insightful, and safe experiences. We will monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates as Vatican operations evolve.
