Currency
The local currency is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).
Credit cards: Larger hotels, resorts and tourist restaurants usually accept cards, but many local shops, cafés and markets only take cash. Even where cards are accepted, minimum spends or surcharges are common.
USD, GBP and travellers cheques are not widely accepted, so carrying local currency is essential.
Additional Excursions
We design our itineraries so that all the necessary excursions and places of interest are included to give the passenger the best possible holiday at an affordable price. However, the tour representative or local ground operator may offer additional excursions. These are optional, not included in the tour cost, and are designed to enhance the holiday experience.
Food
Breakfast will be provided at the hotels, usually in a separate dining area. This is typically a continental or Asian-style breakfast and may include tea, coffee, bread, cereals, fruit and yoghurt.
Passengers can choose from vegetarian or non-vegetarian meals. Jain or Halal options will not always be available. Meals are served as a pre-set buffet, and a choice of menu is not offered. Meals are provided with tap water only.
Dinners are usually provided within the hotel or a restaurant in a separate dining facility. If you are unsure about the ingredients in any dish, please consult your tour representative.

Hotels
Room sizes in Bali are often smaller than international standards. Not all hotels provide kettles, irons or hairdryers, so passengers may wish to bring travel versions.
Some hotels may configure a double room with two single beds placed together. This is common locally and should be expected.
Any extra services such as phone calls, laundry, mini-bar or pay TV must be paid directly to the hotel at check-out.
Maximum occupancy per room is three persons.
Other Advisories
General
You should carry identification with you at all times. A passport or a photocopy of the passport photo page and entry stamp page is acceptable.
Health
Tap water in Bali is not safe to drink. Always use bottled or filtered water. Mosquito protection is essential, and sunscreen should be used due to the strong tropical sun. Travel insurance is strongly advised, as medical care can be costly and payment is often required upfront.
Pick up and Drop off points & Times
Passengers must arrive and depart from Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Transfers between the airport and hotel are included and will be shared with other group passengers. Private transfers are not available.
You will be sent an ATOL certificate if your flights are done with Star Tours.
You should always follow the protocol for flights as set out by the airline. You should check the board at the airport for any flight delays, change of gate number or any other useful information provided by the airline.
Visas & Passports
Most travellers, including British, American, Canadian and Indian passport holders, can obtain a Visa on Arrival at Denpasar Airport for up to 30 days. Passports must be valid for at least six months from entry, and proof of onward or return travel may be requested.
All other nationals should confirm visa requirements with the Indonesian embassy before travel.
Weather
Bali has a tropical climate. The dry season runs from April to October with sunny days and lower humidity. The wet season runs from November to March with heavy but short-lived showers and high humidity. Temperatures remain warm year-round at around 2730°C.
Wheelchairs
We will accept lightweight manual wheelchair for travel, subject to them being capable of being stowed in the luggage hold of the vehicle. It is also essential that a family member is also on tour to push the wheelchair. Star Tours will also request hotels for suitably equipped rooms; however, this is only on a request basis and cannot be guaranteed.
For us to request a wheelchair for you with the airline, this request should be made to us in writing at the time of booking. The allocation of the wheelchair will be at the discretion of the airline/airport.
